Thyroid ultrasonography (USG)
Quick, safe and painless way to test thyroid health
Thyroid ultrasonography is a visual diagnostic technique that allows accurate assessment of thyroid size, shape, structure and circulation. It is one of the most informative, safe and commonly used tests to evaluate thyroid health. The examination is completely harmless, painless and suitable for children and pregnant women. We do this with a premium ultrasound machine that provides detailed and reliable image analysis.
When is thyroid USG recommended?
- Palpable or visible thyroid enlargement
- Palpable knots or thickenings at the front of the neck
- Pressing, discomfort or neck pain
- Changes in thyroid hormone analysis
- In the case of chronic diseases, it is recommended that the examination be carried out annually.
- Preventively, also without complaints, as USG often detects nodes that the patient was unaware of until the examination.
USG can diagnose:
- Thyroid nodes or formations
- Enlargement (goitre) or diffuse gland change
- Inflammation (e.g. autoimmune thyroiditis)
